● The Green NCAP Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Award recognizes cars with an overall low impact on the environment throughout their life cycles
● ORA Funky Cat is one of the four winners who had received five green stars based on the Green NCAP scoring model
● ORA Funky Cat achieved a lifetime average of 112.9g/km of greenhouse gases, among the lowest in its class
● Only 6.5g/km of the cars estimated greenhouse gases are estimated to go towards maintaining the car

19/10/2023: GWM ORA has received the first ever Life Cycle Assessment Award with its
original launch model, ORA Funky Cat, as part of a stringent analysis from Green NCAP. The family car is one of the top four cars which have been given the LCA Award. The organization looked at the estimated lifetime impact on the environment and determined that the ORA Funky Cat is one of the cars with the lowest impact on the climate during their complete vehicle existence.
ORA received the award based on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and primary energy
demand (PED), which is the sum of all primary energy extracted to provide the transportation. In both categories, the ORA Funky Cat sat on the lower end of the scale, requiring only 0.66 kWh/km for its PED and 112.9g/km for its GHG emissions. Its highest contributor for GHG was energy supply, which accounted for 49% of all average estimated C02. For the LCA award, the Green NCAP compiled these scores based on average electricity mixes in 27 European Countries with an average car lifespan of 16 years or 240,000 km driven total.
Philipp Kemmler, Head of Communications & Public Affairs Europe at Great Wall Motor Deutschland GmbH said: "This award demonstrates that the ORA Funky Cat presents the best overall uses of cutting-edge technologies for sustainable performance over the long run. Our efforts in the small family car category are important to keep moving the industry in the right direction. We are thankful for the recognition from Green NCAP and will continue on our path to make our cars have a smaller impact on the environment.”
The news of the LCA award comes after the ORA Funky Cat achieved an overall score of 97% in Green NCAP's stringent environmental performance tests in September. This means the car was able to comfortably pass the tests with the full 5 star green rating. Most notably, ORA Funky Cat reported a grid-to-battery output at an impressive 93.2% when charging at 11kW – one of the highest recorded efficiency scores documented by Green NCAP since its introduction in 2019. Along with these awards, the ORA Funky Cat boasts impressive passenger safety credentials, being named the safest car in its class by Euro NCAP in 2022. These credentials were based on the car’s results in adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable user protection, and safety assist technologies.
